Our
Mission: The Parent Center provides a wide range of workshops on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, healthy lifestyles and activities, discipline, sibling rivalry, self esteem, peer pressure, communication, stress reduction and getting ready for middle school. The Center and its services are available to families with children grades Pre K-12 in Bellmore, North Bellmore, Merrick, North Merrick and the parents and children attending parochial and private schools in the community. It
was established in 1988,
by a dedicated group of
school administrators
and parents, and funded
until 2002, by a State
Youth-at-Risk Grant.
Due to budgetary
restrictions and
constraints at the
federal, state and local
levels, few grants are
available to fund
not-for-profit
organizations.
Consequently, there are
no funds to support the
Parent Center. In order to
be able to provide the
community with the wide
range of programs aimed
to meet the needs of
parents and children,
the Community Parent
Center needs your
ongoing commitment and
financial support.
Your contribution
will enable us to
continue to present
parent education
programs that support
children and families,
and make you an
important member of a
partnership that is
committed to supporting
parents in their efforts
to do what is best for
their children. |
